Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation has just received a donation from an anonymous person. How much was donated? What will the money go towards?

“The endowment was named the ‘Brother Andre Fund,’ in recognition of the anonymous donor’s strong Catholic faith and desire to further our mission,” said Leslie Smart, CFRE, president, Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation. “With this generous gift, we can expand our services and provide an even higher quality of care in the Lexington community.”

The Brother Andre Fund will create an education program about palliative care for staff, terminally ill cancer patients, and their loved ones. It also will support workforce development for palliative care, which will support inpatient and outpatient clinic patients.

This fund will also enhance the Type 1 diabetes education at CHI Saint Joseph Health by connecting staff, patients, and their families with vital information about the disease.
